Cookie Policy
The small files our website stores in your browser, and your choices.
Last updated 26 October 2026
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. This page lists the ones Hive Hosting uses at https://hivehosting.co.za.
1. Essential cookies (always on)
The site cannot work without these, so they do not need your consent.
- Session cookie — keeps you signed in and remembers your cart while you browse. It ends when you close the browser or after a period of inactivity.
- XSRF-TOKEN — protects forms against a type of attack called cross-site request forgery.
- Remember me — only if you tick "remember me" when signing in, so you stay signed in.
- Trusted device (staff only) — lets our team skip the two-step code on a computer they trust, for up to 30 days.
- hive_cookie_consent — remembers your choice in the cookie banner for 12 months.
2. Visit statistics
We count page visits ourselves, on our own server. This does not use a cookie and we do not use Google Analytics or advertising trackers. If you choose Essential only, we blank out the last part of your IP address before counting your visit.
3. Other websites we load content from
Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts and some scripts from public content networks (jsDelivr, cdnjs). Your browser connects to them directly, so they see your IP address, but they do not set cookies for us. Payment pages on PayChangu, and Google if you connect Google Drive, have their own cookie policies.
4. Your choices
Use the Cookie settings link at the bottom of any page to change your choice. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings; if you block essential cookies you will not be able to sign in or check out.
